Nothing happens when I try to launch the game.

I've tried every solution imaginable, nothing works. (Verify, reinstall runtimes, manual reinstall of vcredist and DX, reset game settings, reinstall game, restart PC, turn off antivirus). When trying to launch the game through steam, my profile border turns green as though I'm ingame for about a second and then turns blue again.

Then I tried launching the game from the exe in the game directory directly, and I get told msvcp140.dll is missing. I found a download of this .dll online and placed it into the game directory and then I get the following: "0xc000007b error". I didn't download from here http://ift.tt/2boDrDk because whenever I click on download it thanks me for downloading and directs me to a list of popular versions and doesn't actually download anything, and I can't right click save on the download link because it's just a link and there's no file there. Thanks microsoft for your stellar product support network.

I'm not having any issues with anything else on this PC. How the heck do I fix this? The game has always worked fine until this happened randomly.

Edit: downloaded C++ 2015 redist from MS site in a different browser, uninstalled current installation and reinstalled from there, and the same thing is happening. :|
