Nice to meet you. I am a Japanese GrimDawn player.
It is my birthday tomorrow, so I thought about posting because the extended DLC is near.
I will declare it.
I can not write English very well. can not read. I'm sorry I think there are many times late reply.
Basically I do not have playing power to farm a crucible alone because I am a handicapped person.
But if it's play time it will not be defeated! It has exceeded 7,600 hours recently. I'd like to play up to 20000 hours when I get extended DLC.

Blueprint from Nemesis

I have hunted Valdaran for 7 times at least now but for the last 2 times I killed Valdaran, literally no Legendary or blueprint (especially relics). Whereas every single time since first kill I would get at least a blueprint (the main reason I hunt nemesis is for the BP). Is it cause I died the last 2 times? I am actually still lacking tons of relic blueprints x.x

Some players have suggested Crucible Challenger 100-110, unfortunately my best build is unable to beat it every single time...

Blueprint from Nemesis

Environments

The game has some great environments. This cave here is the one going into Burwitch, very nice, i pass though it so quickly most times I never really see how well detailed it is.

Later in the game i notice many of the environments rely heavily on colored filters for their ambience, or is it particle density and scattering effects? A little too heavy at times, makes the environments look muddy. Notable are the snow/fog on Asterkarn Road, and when you get close to the red rivers in Bastion of Chaos, and there are places in Steps of Torment and East Marsh that get saturated with these effects also, a few others.

Turning off weather in some cases helps(asterkarn), but others like Bastion it does not respond. A shame because there are nice specular effects that get washed out. They tone down if you get far from the apparent source, like the red rivers, or the gorge at the entrance to Steps, but is it jarring and hard to ignore when one is present. Any way to control these effects? Id prefer them to be off or at a much lower intensity.

broke The Outcast quests

so just to make thing understood how i broke stuff i used a trainer/hack program to change faction ratings..

im in ultimate mode and mistakenly friended the Outcast so i accepted it and started her missions and got to the collect the archive mission and then decided i rather want her an enemy so i edited her faction rating to nemesis to see if itll let me kill her anyway

it didnt.. now i cant turn in the quest either even tho i have the archive

so does anyone know of an editor i can undo the quest line or set it so i killed her? or a console command

Error: Activation context generation failed

"X%" chance of Devotion procs based on the skill they're put on

One detail that I noticed is that certain Devotion skills that can be applied in offensive skills that have a cooldown will get a bonus on their proc chance. That's a good thing to compensate the fact you are putting a Devotion skill on a skill that will not spam that often.

But what I don't get is why this is not the case when you apply it to skills that are already on proc like Markovian's Advantage or Feral Hunger. I think Devotion procs should be 100% when applied to skills like these, they have lower chances already, and since the devotions have their own cooldowns you will not spam them that often either.

Also, not a necessary suggestion, but since we are going to see more offensive auras in the expansion, I think it could be cool to have the option to apply offensive Devotions on these auras. With a reduced "X%" chance to balance things out of course (maybe a standard 5% to all devotions if used that way), since you will be hitting with them more often than with regular skills.

All Damage modifier.

While FLAT elemental damage indeed splits betveen 3 damage types (so 30 elemental damage equals to 10 fire, 10 cold and 10 lightning), % elemental damage is not split.

For example, +50% elemental damage is the same as +50% fire, +50% cold and +50%.

"All damage" works the same, so +50% all damage is the same as +50% damage to all individual damage types (exept life leach damage).

Do not confuse it with the term "total damage modified by xy" since while the regular % damage bonuses (including "all damage") are additive, "total damage" is multiplicative that applies AFTER other bonuses. Racial damage bonuses like "+x% damage to humans/undead/whatever) are multiplicative too.

Question about Solael's Witchfire

So I am building a Conjurer and it's my first time playing Occultist. It's going to be a caster, so my question is, does Solael's Witchfire add flat (chaos and vitality) damage to spells like Doom Bolt, Bloody Pox and Devouring Swarm? Because it's says "with every weapon attack". (and while we here, it says attack speed, doesn't count towards casting speed?)

Question about Solael's Witchfire

Chaos Warlock (Help?)

I may be dumb in asking this, but do Epic items scale at all? I ask because my build (built as I played, no real plan.) took a turn when I got Scythe of Tenebris while on my happy adventures. Originally I was using an off-hand and a mace, but getting the Scythe of Tenebris completely changed my build for the better and allowed me to make a better more focused character later on.

My only problem is, I don't know if my build can "get" more damage at this point without getting a new weapon or another Scythe with better rolls.

I noticed on two different places, that some objects disappear, when you come near them.

1. Location: Tomb of Korvaak - Hidden Area (Chosen Quest)
The graves in the room on the screenshot disappeared, when I walked along them. But only one or two at the same time (the nearest to my char).They reappeared after I walked away far enough and I was not able to walk through them, when they were invisible. On the map you can see, there should be an object , but on the screenshot is none.

2. Location: Burrwitch Outskirts
On the screenshot should be a bridge, but it disappeared after I walked over it. I thought I have to kill the Groble-Hero to get it back, but that didn´t worked obviously. When I moved away the bridge appeared, but disappeared again when I got near. Didn´t try to walk over it again.

Ceno and I were discussing this topic of possibly bringing a grimdawn inspired, mafia game to the forums in discord chat. This topic is to see how many of

you players are familiar, or interested in this idea being brought here, as I have several fun ideas to add to the mix theming around the world, and lore of

grimdawn. Incase you didn't know, Mafia is a popular forum game online where you play with people on the forum. The rules are simple for some games,

and a tad more complex in others, depending on how the host sets up the game process. Basically, you have two opposing teams. 1. is called townie where

players must try to figure out, kill, and lynch the enemy team (mafia) from the game; 2. while the opposing team (mafia) tries to sway the townie team

into killing them, and lynching them until there are more mafia then townies. Each team has a few players with special roles, and abilities that can be used

once each night. There are two phases which players perform actions on. Day phase, and Night phase. In the day phase, players vote to see who they

should lynch from town. At night players use, and submit their abilities on players that they want to use them on during the night phase.

Hi!

I've recently been promoted to an IT project manager of sorts.

After working in that capacity for some time I came to understand that I don't have relevant enough information on best practices in business processes for Software Development. IT is everchanging everfaster, books become obsolete as they are written and so on...

So writing this here I'd really like to find out how it's been for the devs here at Crate as well as for anyone who cares to share his experiences in software development.

I'm most interested in feature workflow and bug workflow:what's feature's way from a game designer to a developer, are all the features get separate code branch, how is completion reported, how is a release prepared, how is the game tested and feedback from testers is processed - all that stuff.

I understand it is an inquiry into the inside information which can easily fall under an NDA thus I can see if the dev-team wouldn't be able to share it. But I welcome anyone else who would like to share their experiences.

I chose to write on this particular forum because Grim Dawn is a quality product. I clocked a lot of hours into it to state that. So I'd like to know how to create such a complex system up to quality standards.

Also If anyone has suggestions on any materials still relevant on business processes and workflow in software and game development - feel free to point and share.

So I bought DLC yesterday. Did a co-op to wave 130, and now 100 just to see it. Before I can loot items people start it again or what do I now...so barely got to loot anything.

Why the heck is there no ready check or whatever...I know your UI is very bare bones, way to simple, but this should be mandatory.

Undecided between Leviathan/Ulzuin's Torch

Hi guys, I'm playing my first char as a melee dual wielding Nightblade/Demolitionist (currently level 41), I'm planning something along 50/32 on masteries, focusing on Blade Spirit and execution on nightblade skilltree and taking fire strike, BWC/flashbang, blast shield and vindictive flame for defensive measures. The plan is to go ham with right clicks while blade spirits going around proccing devotion.

I'm undecided however between leviathan and ulzuin's torch. From what I've read so far whirlpool is superior to meteor shower both in damage and the instantaneous cast, but the devotion required (purple/green) is inferior to that required of ulzuins (red/green).

Also damage-wise, nightblade masteries benefits from those of purple nodes (cold/pierce damage) while demolitionist takes advantage from fire damage provided by red nodes.

What's your take on this? Is this plan viable on ultimate?

just some builds i thought i could share since i have much fun with,
nothing crazy, nothing really new, some are just more or less updated builds of older ones, changing minor things.
anyway i just wanted to revived them a bit since this part of forum gets a bit quiet sometimes,

Hey guys,

I have a little suggestion to item description for faster understanding the specific equipment..

I know skills etc are greyed out but why we get information about the skills itself. I mean maybe i have a new build in my head and dont recognize all skills of all classes (its hard to do ^^) and want to do something new with my new legendary what i found.

For clarification i would suggest the classes names behind those greyed out skills from which you cant benefit and maybe a little yellow star for modifers that you can see fast what it does.. Always i have to look which skill it was and to whom it belongs and so on, its redundant..

Items have alot of buffs and for a faster overview i want to see the class buffs and skill modifers in a seperate way.

Hello,

I know you fixed blood pact but still there are other issues about late activation
Time flux band
Storm Shard
You can see the animation and fx when placed on ground but still they are not activated after around 1.5 seconds. Mobs are slowed after 1.5 seconds of yellow time slow area affect or storm shard starts attacking even there is mob in the area after around 1.5 seconds. Time-flux ability is already useless with this delay it is like non-existant.Play and see yourself

I have noticed a few items and one devotion that seem at a glance not to give much in the way of bonuses but instead put heavy penalties on the character. Chains of Anguish, Boots of Unseen Swiftness, perhaps others. Just wondering if anyone has tapped these and can the bonuses be worth the penalties? The variable move speed on the boots was just too much for me.

I read about the birds somewhere trying to figure where to get it. They could have meant on Ultimate. Spent a good bit of time at the minefield and mausoleum also. Most of them were my level or above. In the process read similar issues, days of trying to farm it. Crafted. More importantly though, i got the quest early on, almost immediately when i got access to the table, and at no point since has it dropped.

And Geeze whats with the endless army of max speed Fleshwarped Giants...one is hard on my glassy, two or three...wtf. I managed though, not complaining just ouch. And that Aether tendril that reaches across the whole map. Sadistic. Resistance would help though.

If you go to the Save Game File Thread, and if you start at page 1 and look at every page until you reach page 71, you can find download links for 40 to 70 characters. Most of these characters are from Build 20, 21, and 22, when the level cap was at 35 for just prior to entering Homestead and when the level cap was at 40 upon entering Homestead, and then again when the level cap was at 50 upon reaching Dark Vale Gate. As I was looking at all those comments I found an original link to the Cat's first store on the forum using mules-characters for the individual items – that zipped file has 29 characters in it. I am going to share 32 Retro-Tanks with you.

So how are these tanks outfitted? The first thing you might notice is that the primary character class has been maxed out, with enough Skill Points to max out a second class. On top of that there are 446 Devotion points in which you haven't applied to your character choice. This is the uniform I selected for everyone, to get you started off on the right foot:

This is the only uniform set, that will get you from your starting level to finish at level 55 to 60 on Normal, after that you are on your own. All weapons are Officer's Grade. Attributes? All attributes were given a big boost of 23,464; Physique, Cunning, and Spirit. Every character is the same regardless of their Class or Level, until they have to chose.

Each characters starts with 751 skill points. These are not blanks.

Inside your Item Stash I have included a number item to make your journey easier. For instance you get Crafting Materials a 100 of each, what can you do with 100 sticks of dynamite? Consumables in the 800 to a 1000 range, a 1000 Skeleton Keys, you may not need these things, but each person is different, somebody might like to try their hand at crafting, or plan to spend a lot of time on the Steps, you are covered.

Please fix Area permanent buffs on multiplayer cruicible

Hello,
I am not sure if Field Command is the only buff that will get overridden by other soldiers, but I am sure than no matter what level your Field Command is it WILL get overridden even if the other soldier has his Field Command at level one. This is not the only buff that has problems sometimes i have seen my Demolitionist losing permanent buffs like vindictive flame when other Demoitionists are around too.

Maybe it is worth looking into it, because its annoying to lose valuable stats when other peoples buffs are worse. Plus its hard to keep a track of which buffs you have active in the heat of gladiator final waves.

Sector-Paint Tool - "Name Layer"

This may be the simplest question in the world, but I'm just not finding an answer anywhere.

I was just reading one of the modding guides about it and I'm definitely missing something. I have no experience in modding or coding anything before this, so it really is diving in at the deep end with lead shoes!

And I can't get the Name Layer to work correctly. If I give it a name, it won't show up in-game. If I add something in the Tag box it shows up but also with the "Tag Not Found" error... why?

The guide says this:
"Localization Tag is as the name says a tagbased name which means that the tag put in here needs to get a text related through the localization (text) files in the mod. Otherwise the game will show Tag not found: tagname in the game."

However I have no idea how to do that. I checked out some other mods that were using localization stuff for other languages, but they didn't explain how I could JUST make the name appear. Do I need to save a special text file with these area names in a specific folder?

Thanks in advance, you'll likely see more questions from me as I pull what little hair I have left out trying to get the simplest things done.

I had a few updates without playing ... and now I want to end my character in hardcore.I know that there have been changes, and not knowing the "balance".

How to improve my character beyond 100% (hardcore)

Some Questions about Resistances, Change Gear, etc.

Okay, maybe these are stupid questions but I´m asking myself for a couple of days:

1. Resistances especially Aether/Chaos
Nearly every build I look at has all resistances capped. This isn´t always easy especially Aether/Chaos so the builds have special devotions, components, etc. to reach this goal.

I´m asking myself: Why? I´m not talking about Fire, Cold., etc, but why have Aether/Chaos always to be capped? Is there any Boss where you need both resistances?

Wouldn´t it be easier to get some change gear instead of taking Devotions/Components just for this reason? For example when playing Port Valbury I need Aether Resistance. Why not change a Weapon with e.g. Oleron´s Blood to the same Weapon with Purified Salt just for this instance? (Okay, for me, it´s easy: One spare Weapon with Purified Salt, one with Imbued Silver).

Would that not be easier and perhaps more effective than to put everything in this "One Gear"?

(Just talking about Vanilla, not Crucible.)

2. Overcapping Resistances
When is this a good idea? Or: Which Bosses use RR? I know of AoM and perhaps Valdaran?

Some Questions about Resistances, Change Gear, etc.

Multiplayer content?

Hello there, SO I was wondering, if there is any content maybe at end game level, designed for multiplayer game? Like. maybe an arena? Or maybe certain bosses/areas that are too tough to go alone.

I am new to GD, been hosting multiplayer games, and its so much fun. But I think would be cool, if there were certain areas, or gameplay modes, more designed for multiplayer games. Or some type of PvP. I see you can enable PvP, but I have yet to see why it would have any reason..unless there is more that I am not aware of.

Malmouth Ferry

somewhat random sign, i say somewhat because there's little tidbits like signage in the world that help it feel whole and cohesive. reading into the lore notes scattered throughout the game will reveal some minor information like lower crossing being a docking area to and from malmouth, other areas around the lake, and the prison.

Nothing tied directly to Ashes of Malmouth persay, just some world building decoration.

Starting a newly built world?

I've tried searching through the modding sections of the forums for an answer, and I've followed steps in tutorials such as the map making for dummies guide.

However, when I enter the game and select "custom game" and pick my mod from the list, the character list changes, as expected; I make a new character, but when entering on the new character, the character starts at Devil's Crossing.

I have added a player spawn in my map, I built pathing and the maps too. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong.

While there are SO many figures I would love to do this with, if i only had ONE choice it would be......Jackie Gleason. I have always been a huge fan and admirer of his work. I bet he would be absolutely fascinating. Oh the stories I imagine he could tell!!!

Epic legendary affix mod

is there any mod that permits epic and legendary items to roll affixes?

ive been playing a conversion mod that allows for that but i dont want a conversion i just want to play the vanilla game with the possibility of getting affixes on epic and legendary items.

and many more items..

Many item's "when hit spells" rarely benefit the player. many of them have 40+ sec cooldown and active for 5-10 seconds. Some heal/ some give res+ to all. The problem is nobody wants these buffs when 100 damage white mob hits.. You get healed 1300 hp for 100 damage and get %50 damage absorption for 5 seconds and after that here comes the boss ( and.. your buff is on cooldown ). For bosses, you generally have to wait if you want to use proc which is another bad thing about these either.

My suggestion is "heal or resistance increaser buffs" must be activated when hit by a yellow mob or hero/boss.

What do you think?

Yepper, I've tested it myself and can confirm that the bound skill has to kill the enemy, even if the bound skill has a debuff element like Devouring Swarm. Therefore, low damage, high-AoE skills are the worst at proccing this devotion skill. Fortunately, at higher levels, you get a much longer duration on the skeletons, so even if you kill a few enemies with the wrong skill, you should be able to keep up 3-5 for the majority of fights no problem.

Hi. I tried making a build around Arcblade. I managed to get through Ultimate, but I get rekt by Sharzul/Alkamos/Aldrich and I'm assuming I won't be able to kill Nemesis bosses as well

Need help with Arcblade Druid

Is player character human?

This question is for gameplay purposes rather than lore purposes.

For example, while fighting Fabius I noticed he was hitting significantly harder than usual, and when he died he dropped a sword "of ruthlessness" with +24% damage to humans. Would the player character be affected by this, or is he/she immune to species-based damage bonuses?

Furthermore, since the player character is Taken, would %damage to Aetherial and Aether Corruptions deal more damage as well?

I never really thought about it until I encountered this weapon being used against me.

Is there a mod that adds Nemesis notifications?

I know this has been asked in past threads and the dead horse is a pile of mush in the Nemesis spawn thread, but I was wondering if anyone ever made a mod that would give you a notification if a Nemesis is nearby or in the area. I know some people want an EA-styled neon blip on their minimap, but I was hoping there could be a notification that could briefly appear on the screen that a Nemesis is in the area.

I also know people are going to say that running the normal spawn points doesn't take very long, but considering I don't have as much time to game as I used to, I can't spend hours warping from place to place hoping I find one.

My score multiplier is x10 and i have over 1 min remaining for bonus timer and I am with extra spawns however he still talks trash. He uses keywords such as dissapointed,sad display,bore me etc.. His positive and negative sentences are ambigious and not well timed.

General questions

Hello, playing this game again

Gotten to Ultimate now. My gear is still rather low, and Im level 65 only atm. What places should I farm gear in? I heard about a few area's such as Cronleys hideout?

How is multiplayer. I always host games when I play, but quite often nobody joins. Is people playing solo mostly, or is there games on Ultimate level 85 etc?

I'm thinking about re-rolling. Im liking my panneties build ( http://ift.tt/2vodCJP ), but I think melee would be fun to try. What is the most tankiest or overall better melee build atm? Heard a lot about bladewarden IIRC

Are anything I should know, like some tips or whatever? Still abit unsure on factions - Is it needed to grind rep with them, and how much does enchanting gear properly matter?

Last time I was playing with a Lightning Obliteration Druid using granted skill from Tome of the Arcane Wastes.

This time using same skill, I try make a Fire Obliteration Warlock with Iskandra's Set (except the Off-Hand) as the main gear.

Using Warlock gives us access to Two of the Best CC Skills in the game (You don't have to agree with me on this topic)
- Curse of Frailty - Vulnerability (Slowing Enemies and applied various RR and Flat DA Shred)
- Olexra's Flash Freeze (Freeze Enemies and gives nice Fire RR)

Just reminder, OFF is nice for Control the Crowd, but it's not for controlling the Bosses

Next, about the gear, we're using Iskandra Set, combine with Occultist Aspect of the Guardian, it's easy for us capping the resistances.
Since we already got pretty nice Resistances, we have free slot for Chaos Strike "Blink" Skill from Riftstone component.
Chaos Strike is nice skill for mobility, positioning, and also could be use for bounding devotion skills

Iskandra's Set also support our damage : Elemental, Aether, and Fire Damage

Build Concept :
This build is using Aether and Elemental (focused on Fire) as Damage Type.

3 Main Damage Skills :

Obliteration Skill
When compare to AAR, Obliteration just like a spell from a Junior Mage.
AAR is better in the term of damage.
But Obliteration cost no Skills Points, has lower mana cost, and pierce through enemies.
Tome of the Arcane Wastes also provides +1 to all Skills.

Obliteration gives Flat Elemental Damage that dealt as 1/3 Fire + 1/3 Ice + 1/3 Lightning, divided equally.
Since we are more focused on Fire damage, we'll try to boost Fire aspect from the Elemental Damage with Conversion, Gear, Skills, and Devotion.
Using Warpfire, we convert the Cold Damage to Fire Damage.
Unfortunately nerfed Warpfire only gives us half of the conversion.

Devastation
The Green Meteors.
Does Fire and Aether Damage, matching our Damage Theme.
Even though it's not as powerfull as the old version, this Green Meteors in high level is still reliable as Main Damage Source.

Devotion Skills like : Meteor Shower, Elemental Storm, Fissure, etc
Meteor Shower does Physical, Fire, and Burn Damage, one of our Main Source of Damage.
Meteor Shower's Damage isn't too good one low level. We need to leveling it to Max Level.

Elemental Storm gives us Flat Elemental RR + Elemental Damage + DoTs

Damage Boosting from Gear :
Iskandra's Hood : Boost Elemental and Aether Damage
Iskandra's Vestments : Boost Elemental and Aether Damage
Iskandra's Pauldrons : Boost Fire and Aether Damage
Iskandra's Focusing Prism : Boost Elemental Damage
Tome of the Arcane Wastes : Boost All Damage and Elemental Damage
Wyrmbone Handguards : Boost Fire Damage
Warpfire : Boost Fire Damage and provide Cold to Fire Conversion
Wraithborne Legwraps : Boost Aether Damage
Phantom-Thread Girdle : Boost Elemental and Aether Damage
Iskandra's Balance : Boost Fire and Elemental Damage + Elemental Imbalance Procs (Boost Fire Damage)
Badge of Mastery : Boost All Damage

Note :
Percent Elemental Damage is a bonus to all three elements equal to the full value. It is not split evenly.
Bonus 100% Elemental Damage = Bonus 100% to All Fire, Ice, and Lightning Damage.

Damage Boosting From Mastery Skills :
Arcanist
Reckless Power : Boost Fire, Burn, and Aether Damage
Arcane Will : when activate boosts All Damage
Fabric of Reality : Boost Aether Damage
Olexra's Flash Freeze : gives Fire RR
Nullification : Elemental RR
Inner Focus : Increase Spirit thus Increase our Magical and Duration Damage

Occultist
CoF's Vulnerability : gives Elemental RR
Summon Familiar "Storm Raven" : Storm Spirit boosts Elemental Damage

Raven is not only has good use for leveling in early level, it also can heal our toon with it's Mend Flesh

Note :
Sometimes we may forget to "revive" the Raven when it dies.
We need to make Raven keep alive as it can boost our damage and heal our toon.

Damage Boosting From Devotion Constellations :
Ulzuin's Torch : Boost Fire and Burn Damage + OA + Crit Damage
Solael's Witchblade : Boost Fire Damage + Fire RR
Magi : Boost Fire and Burn Damage
Rhowan's Crown : Boost Elemental and Elemental Dots Damage + Elemental Flat RR
Scholar's Light : Boost Fire and Elemental Damage
Owl : Boost Elemental and Elemental Dots Damage + Reduce Energy Cost
Viper : Elemental RR
