Lost legendary from crash

I was hosting a game and my friend went to remove a component from an item. I wasn't doing anything just standing there and the moment he clicked keep item it crashed my game. I started a new game my friend joined again and his shoulders that he had in the inventor to remove the component are gone. He says this isn't the first time he has lost an item like this and that is rediculous.

I love this game but the bugs are almost enough to make me loath it to the point of not playing. I've had plenty of bugs myself like my auras killing friendly players and plenty of crashes.

To have the game's own system cause a crash and then cause an item to disappear and not some kind of safety measure throwing it back in your inventory is unacceptable in a game like this. Spend hours to get that legendary you've been looking for to have it lost by the games own incompetency. I'm afraid to use the inventor now cause I don't want to lose any items myself. Any game like this if similair happened the item would just be put back in your inventory or something not just lost entirely. My friend is very upset right now and rightly so.

I was so excited for the expansion but to see so many bugs that still persist it seems like things like this should have been fixed by now and I'd rather have a functioning game that doesn't crash at stupid moments than more content ATM. The crashes are frustrating but tolerable untill you lose an item you've spent a long time trying to get. I worry the expansion is going to just bring more bugs with how many are still persistent in the base game.

Been playing this for a year and still get more crashes then I should from a stable game. I was willing to put up with them till the games bugs start causing you to lose items that is not ok this game is about getting badass loot and shouldn't have instances where you can lose that at no fault of your own you are just doing things the way the game wants you and it triggers a crash and a loss of the item please fix this I'm sure my friend isn't the only one to have it crash with an item in the inventor and lost said item. I'm sure it could be coded as STILL IN YOUR INVENTORY when it's also in the inventor so that if the game crashes it's still there and not just GONE.

If you reach Nemesis while playing, do they spawn in that session?

As Norzan said, they will not spawn in areas you've already cleared, and may not necessarily spawn at their other spawn points, but they *can*.

So then all the damage is going to come from devotions and supporting skills? I can kill bosses pretty fast (face-tanked Gutworm 7 levels higher than me in 4 seconds) but my general clear speed is lacking. I was wondering if most AAR Sorcs took a fire skill like Canister or Grenado since most Aether skills add fire damage as well.

Any recommended secondary skills for an AAR Sorcerer?

It's coming along.

DX11 support is more or less finished at this point, which is in turn having a nice benefit for the PC version.

Controller support is getting some nice improvements, that's wrapping up soon. PC version will probably benefit from that too for those that prefer a controller.

Things still remain to do though. No ETA on when the console release happens. As you said, expansion is our #1 priority right now.

I am a core player of GD from China.

I just want to let you know that we will have our national holiday last 8days, from Oct 1 to Oct 8....Many guys like me are eager to the new expansion.

So I think that if you can release your expansion earlier on steam...it will be sold a huge nums, for all of us are planning to play it during this long holiday...

Not a bad suggestion, is it? Whatever, we are crazying to this new expansion

Just a suggestion to dev team

Offline-help for dummies

Either I understand the mechanics of something very well, or I don't.
I still haven't understood much of the mechanics here, but that doesn't stop me from loving Grim Dawn.
But, because I often hesitate about how things do/did work, I have tried to collect the information about what I most often "use", into an Open Office Calc-file (attached) (Open Office is completly free, calc is an alternative to excel, but I think Excel could open this too).

Maybe someone else is like I am, and could find it useful to have some information collected at the same place.
I have mostly just collected other peoples writing, and... there can be errors.
If you find an important error ("know", not "think" it could be), I would appreciate if you told me (skrap@gotanet.se), so I can learn more about these mechanics.
If you already understand everything, maybe it could be useful because of the way I have listed Skills & Devotions... easy copy and paste and calculation of how many points left, how much more needed for that constellation.
I enjoy planning as much as I enjoy playing.
All information could be changed, and especially for the two newest classes.

To limit the width of columns, sometimes I have included important information as notes, in a cell.

Please, remember... information could be wrong... misunderstood by me, or by someone who wrote it.

- pyromancer or sorcerer? I think both are viable, but i cant decide...
COF and blood of dreeg are nice, but olexa freeze and reckless power are good too.

- would you Focus on damage Devotion like Meteor and fissure or is it better to go RR Devotion like elemental storm and eldritch fire?

Character Freezing in Game During Combat

UnhappyCharacter Freezing in Game During Combat

I played for quite a while with no problems when suddenly my character started freezing during combat. I am a demolitionist and carry a two-handed rifle. During combat I can run and shoot while moving. If I throw stun jacks though even far from me my character will freeze and I can't move or shoot. If I stand there long enough he eventually will move. However, if I'm taking damage its not a good idea. The stun jacks give me no indication that I'm stunned even when thrown at my own feet. I usually have to hit escape to get menu and then hit return to game and everything is fine. As I said, I played for a while with no problems then this started about 5-7 days ago. I have done a new install, a repair, and tried various changes to video settings with no luck. Great game but so annoying.

Character Freezing in Game During Combat

Cuphead

Pre-ordered this one on GoG a while back. Played it for a bit over an hour today. And damn its intense, gorgeous, great music etc. The 8-directional control schema takes some getting used to, but once you do things get serious.

It took me a dozen or so attemps to finish the first level. Took some bosses down on first go.

Tip so far is to get the coins in levels. Grab the upgrade that lets you dash without taking hits. It makes life so much easier when traversing through the run and gun levels.
tip2. don't try to kill everything in run&gun levels. goal is to make it through alive, grab all coins and parry the purple stuff and have as high hp as possible when finishing the level. easy A rank end of levels/fights.
Tip3. If you get "stuck" on a boss/area just explore the world map and do some side areas. The mausoleum is one to give you a magical boost for example.
tip4. not sure if possible, but worth checking out. replay some run and gun levels to farm for coins to buy more upgrades from the pig shop.

It is a lot of fun, but takes quite a lot of concentration. Meaning I can't play them in long succesion per sitting. If you like these side scrolling platformers grab this. It is a must

Skeleton Key blueprint

So I've done Descent Into Torment and received my Blueprint: Skeleton Key and one Skeleton Key from Kalderos, but when I go to a blacksmith, I cannot find the recipe under any category.

I've even gone back and killed Grand Priest Zarthuzellan again, but still none of the blacksmiths from Angrim all the way through to Horrus gives me the option to create a Skeleton key.

What do I do now?

New ARPG dungeon crawler.
Looks good, so I'm definitely gonna try it. However, the fact that you have to babysit your daughter through the entire game can be irritating. Unlike this game, ICO had mostly calm atmosphere, and the enemies were as additional, but not mandatory element.

Also, not the fan of comparisons like *look, it's soulslike!*.

Idea for a pet/component add on..possibly a bonus for..

Possibly a bonus for buying the expansion early. While will o wisp may be fun..

Something like "strange grass" or "a bouncy tassel" and you can summon a cat/goblin monster. That is more passive, but does things for you while alive..in this case, gathers up all yellow/white items..or others and sells them immediately...or goes back to your last rift point, sells stuff, and walks back. (Walking back would be funny, "oh there you are").

I know those can be turned off not to be seen, however..passing up the extra gold, it would be like a little extra bonus. (cat for nekomata, selling stuff in some games..universes..) Maybe a businessman aetherial? Anyway, the idea is a summon (most won't want to pass up the slot, maybe make it a relic only component so the novelty isn't wasted, and doable for everyone) aaand..summoners can have an "attack" front line, and a "defensive support" back line.

Could also add a rifthound/spider type with a backpack/luggage in a cart being pulled.

Tl:dr - special pet/summon that adds someone to pick up and sell fodder for you, to gain that extra cash (may not be necessary), and maybe refill pots without leaving a dungeon/to keep progressing. "come back with a hot meal" lots of fun options.

No, I don't think this alone is the end of Denuvo, though it may be the beginning of the end. Big gaming companies are stubborn; they will not soon change their habits, and if they do, they'll probably move on to something worse (than Denuvo) before pulling their heads out of their asses.

Ideas for XP usage gained after hitting level cap

Basically, at the moment, there are no post level cap XP usage and so once a character hits the cap, all the XP gained goes to waste. A system similar to paragon/D3 can be implemented but people might argue that it will break the game, making it too easy by adding too many passive buffs. So instead, I propose a different solution.

Once a character hits level cap, all XP gained will be put towards a different meter fills when cap level amount of XP is gained. This meter is account bound. Each time this meter is filled, the character receives a special shard. These shards can be used for crafting different legendaries and can also be used to craft a special key, which can open a new type of XP chest, which will spawn randomly or be present in the safehouse. This chest will offer randomized loot, even rare recipes and legendary items. Since the meter is equivalent to the level cap meter, it will essentially take some time before a shard is obtained, so the incentive can be adjusted based on this factor and it is up to the developer.

I personally feel like it's kinda sad that XP are wasted once the cap is reached and most players won't feel the need to participate in bounties or quests afterwards, essentially killing off some important areas of the game. A system to address this issue will be beneficial for all.

Okay after my first thread I decided to go with the "Witchblade" build from Drizzto.

My character is at the moment level 8 so at level 10 I get to choose the second class for this build. Now so far with the Soldier I have been distributing the Attribute points to get this ...

But because the Occultist is a magic class I am uncertain about the best way to spend the attribute points once I have the second class? Which order would be best for Drizzto's Witchblade build?

Or another order be better for this build?

My second question is about the health bar. I tried to find info on the game Wiki and the New Player Compendium. ( To be honest I did not search very hard, but still. ) There is a transparent yellow bar on top of the health bar that seems to slowly go down. But at times it suddenly gets filled again?

Cadence+falcon swoop is not enough :-)

Commando is probably best for that tasty total speed bonus on Vindictive Flame and the flashbang debuffs. Bleed is more of a tertiary damage type on cadence so I wouldn't build around it personally, but I'm sure it would still work decently.

For the record, falcon swoop AoE with piercing cadence shots is definitely enough AoE to get through everything assuming that you have enough attack speed to proc cadence's pierce shot often.

Dual pistol cadence

Arcanist/demo question..or two.

Asked on steam, but only got, well..half answers. Copied and pasted, and help appreciated.

I'm having quite a bit of fun as this, but had a few questions. I'm a bit lost, numbered at the bottom..may be trying to tackle too much but I want to see if I can make this work.

This may be a little long, thanks in advance for the help

As far as weapons go - I'm using a sword and tome, really don't wanna use guns. Both have amazing procs (extra 1000 damage per hit from each), and...personally just like swords.

I've leveled arc to 50, demo is at about 20..or 25, cant remember, and the rest is mostly put in auras, the "passives" at the bottom of arc, mirror, and reckless power. Demo has fire strike, and the second one, top aura and the bottom one.

I've found with these 5, at least on normal, I can walk by most things and they die (thanks to items too). My tome has doombolt, and sword has arcane explosion..or field, something like that.

Anyhew, this leads me to my questions. I have it built for auras, and want to go that route, to try and be a melee mage type (not going soldier, probably better yes but trying like this), which has me a bit lost.

1, What should I be focusing more on, physical damage? Or - Elemental damage boosting items? Does "converts X physical to X Aether" etc, does it get a boost from phys or better to go straight elemental? I'm wondering which percentage/damage to shoot for. Fire strike is my main attack. basically, which should i shoot for on boosts from gear, elemental type, or phys type damage. (Elements referring to all magics/magic damage).

2. What devotions would be good? I have Flame torrent on fiend, and bat for now (To get a bit of life leech while i figure stuff out). So, which devotions/early ones would be best to have, maybe up my survivability, or go full glass cannon?

3. If dual classing, is it better to spend mastery in skills themselves, or go for mastery for extra stats? Or is there more then enough (with boost percentage stat gear) to make up for not having mastery stats - and can wear anything (eventually)? That said, given the melee side. Is it better to add/focus on (stat wise) spirit cunning or physique (aside from what's needed for armor). Cunning ups physical damage (but based on question 1), if elemental boosts/ x converted to x damage) would spirit give me more oomph?

.. Also 4. Do life leech, or "on damage gain x hp" moves, work off spells as well/procs, or retaliation damage?

5. What's a good constellation for resistances/melee resistances.

DefaultAny way to add a visual effect for curses?

Something similar to Diablo 2's Necromancer curses would be great. As it stands, you have to kinda guess the radius of the curses when a simple visual per cast would alleviate this entire issue.

Any way to add a visual effect for curses?

What level are you when you move to Elite?

I love making new characters and running them through to Ultimate to see if the build idea will be viable with normal gear (still don't have any end-game sets) and I've noticed I always seem to finish up my final quest around level 60-62. I asked a few of my friends who play Grim Dawn and they don't understand how I'm that high even though they claim to play Veteran like me and finish everything there is to do.

So I'm curious where people normally end up when entering Elite for the first time.

What level are you when you move to Elite?

Lvl 65 Warder Help

Hello,

I'm level 65 and have been following a guide that has me using a 1 handed weapon and shield. The guide looks out of date with the skill screen having extra skills in the current game and not in the guide.

Are there any current guides out there for a viable late game warder?

What are some of the stats I should focus on?

I understand resistances, defense, and health are important but what else?

Is retaliation/reflect still relevant on this character?

Well i suppose there is not a definitive answer : Oleron rage will give you %oa and movement speed, bond will boost your bleeding dmg and grant you some dmg reduction. Assuming that your build is all about bleeding damage i'd personally pick primal bond cause i'm a sucker for dmg mitigation. But it's all matter of personal priorities.

Idea of a motivating way to farm Nemesis Monsters

Dear Dev-Team,

I've spent quite some time with your game and totally love it and I am very excited for the upcoming expansion. Nevertheless, there is something that bothers me for quite some time.

I am talking about Nemesis monsters. I like the idea behind it but to search for them can be quite a pain, can take really long and therefore can lack of motivation very fast and end in frustration.
My last run took more than 1 hour and I still didn't find it (I was searching for Valdaran). Of all those many places he can spawn, I must have overseen a small corner or something. And even if you find one of them the chance to get some nice loot or just something you need like recepies is still random.

An example and easy way to fix this and make it a more motivating and fun way to look out for Nemesis bosses would be some sort of NPC (like a spy, news agent, a person that hears many rumors or some sort of this).
This NPC then tells you about some information he got, stories from escapees or rumors he heard of and (to make it not too easy) tells you of 2 or 3 locations those people might have seen the (specific) Nemesis Boss. So you still have to look out for them but have a smaller area to look out for and the certanity that they have to be in one of those areas. (This also makes all Nemesis bosses equal to find independent of the amount of spawn areas.)

It's quite a bit like a bounty but with more places to look out for and without any rewards (finding the boss should be reward enough).

This is just an example but it would be a nice and easy way to make it more fun to hunt down those evil Nemesis monsters and clear those lands of this rotten evilness

Hope you read this and might think about it or some sort of mechanic.
And hopefully others agree with me

Idea of a motivating way to farm Nemesis Monsters

Personal Farming In Main Campaign as Ultimate for Preparing the future (expansion)

It might be too late or maybe not effective (even though I did some googling and learned a lot from Korean Grim Dawn community in Naver), yet as a preparation for the upcoming expansion, I would like to reveal my combined farming spots in Main Campaign as Ultimate.

Some may wonder why not Crucible? Sure, Crucible fetches a lot of items too. I do that a lot too. Yet you may consider farming Main Campaign certain items quickly (such as Solael Pants). You don't have to follow every step in my farming style.

I do not recommend do this on Normal (Veteran) and Elite, you may not get fully effective farming, thus bring your best character or an adequate character with high Run speed (You gonna run a lot) in Ultimate.

It can be used from beginners (who just got into Ultimate) to skilled players (It might be no brainer). and lastly it is still RNG based farming, thus you may not get what you wanted.

Here it goes.

Act 1

Devil's Aquifer - Viloth Ring.
Simply put, from Devil's Crossing, open a trap door near the riftgate. Don't bother with lesser enemies such as spiders, Slith and so on. Just rush towards the boss, Viloth. Kill it.
The Reason - solid Ring for Poison/Acid Damage build.

Hidden Path (Dreeg) - Rift Scourge Slicer, Dreeg Pant (most important)
If you have not done Hidden Path at all, I recommend to google its paths.
You may need 2 Dynamites to open its blockage first time. When you clear the blockage, kill every enemy during this path for Rift Scrouge Slicer and your safety (those little poison projectiles can be deadly). You will reach Guardian of Dreeg, kill it with caution, it can be hard.
The Reason - As for Rift Scourge Slicer, a solid weapon for Poison Damage build characters if there are sufficient prefix and suffix. You also need it for making Vasilik Dagger. Dreeg Pants can be useful too.

Warden's Laboratory - Aether Crystals, Aether Shards, Aether Clusters.
When you come to Warden's Laboratory Rift, DO NOT HEAD TO THE WARDEN, HEAD BACKWARD! When you move backward, you are going to face several Aether Crystal Clusters, destroy them. 2 things - ignore lesser enemies and beware of Valdrun the Aetherial Nemesis if you have Nemesis reputation from Aetherial. Up to you fight them and Valdrun, but personally, I ignore them and Valdrun, because it can be time-consuming. When you see a shrine, you are done. Head for next spot.
The Reason - Not only crafting some materials, but you may need them to craft Dynamites easily from Black Legion Blacksmiths (Homestead and Fort Ikon).

Act 2
Spined Cove - Ectoplasm
Go to Arkovian Foothills Riftgate, head east until you see a cave entrance. This is Spined Cove. You gonna see Ghost-type enemies. Kill them all. Seriously, KILL THEM ALL. Because they have a high rate of dropping the precious Ectoplasm.
The Reason - Ectoplasm is hard to come by and you may need to craft important items... such as Skeleton Key.

Cronley's Hideout - Dynamite, Cronley's Ring
Go to Cronley's Hideout Riftgate, you can kill everyone or ignore lesser enemies. However, you may consider doing some checklist on the way.

  • Kill Enemy Heroes.
  • Destory a junk pile(not sure it is a correct name)
  • Kill Money Bag "Martin" (Blue Aura Guy)
  • Definite Dynamite Spawn near Cronely.
  • Lastly Cronley himself.

first 2 may drop Dynamite, but MoneyBag "Martin" definitely drops Dynamite (or 2 Dynamite) for you. There is Dynamite Spawn near Cronely (to be specific, it is north-east before entering Cronely's room. If it is a co-op mode, there will be ONLY ONE, in other words, if one of party members pick it up, others cannot pick it up anymore. Lastly Cronely, he cast a barrier similar as Maiven Sphere... which cannot be harmed. Wait until it is gone (10-15 seconds?) or cast Nullification from Arcanist Class. After that, Kill him with ease.
The Reason - You may need at least 1 Dynamite in my Act 3 farming (Check Mountain Deeps) and Cronely Ring can be sweet if there is right suffix and prefix as well.

Arkovian Undercity - Kilrian's Shattered Soul
Go to BROKEN HILLS RIFTGATE, NOT TWIN FALLS. From Broken Hills Riftgate, run back to Arkovian Undercity (North, there is a ghost NPC at the entrance). Its entrance let you start from the middle of Arkovian Undercity. To save time (or kill everything if you have some time), just run toward the last level of Arkovian Undercity, where Kilrian should be there. Kill it with caution. It can be a pain to kill for certain characters.
The Reason - You may need it for use as a chest component (sweet!) or crafting certain items such as Ulzuin's Headgear, Scourge and so on.

Hidden Path (2) - Solael Pants and some Chipped Claws.
Go to Broken Hills Riftgate again, run towards 2nd Hidden Path (Google the second Hidden Path map if you don't know the way around). You may need to kill and get the Runestone from 1st Hidden Path if it is your first time in Hidden Path as Ultimate. On the way to the Hidden Path, there will be a lot of beasts (some boars and Harpies), I recommend to slay them all, because they may drop Chipped Claws. Lastly when you meet Guardian of Solael, kill it with caution, his chaos (looks Chaos to me) attacks can be deadly.
The Reason - Chipped Claws for many crafting... hard to mention them all. Solael Pants... it has few critical resistance such as Aether, Bleeding and so on. Dreeg Pants is good, but I personally hate Bleeding Resistance, which there are no augments to cover Bleeding Resistance yet.

Smuggler's Pass (Optional, only if you don't have Crucible) - Bonecrusher.
If you have Crucible and do a lot of them over 100 waves, you may have a lot of Bone Crushers. Nevertheless if you don't have Crucible or cannot do over 100 waves yet, you may consider to come to Smuggler's Pass and slay every Troll (those Big Guys with huge Bludgeon, not Mistborn enemies).
The Reason - Sometimes you need to craft Mistborn Talisman to craft certain gears (Especially Juggernaut relics). To craft that, you need 1 Bone Crusher.

Mountain Deeps - Treasure Cove, Ikrix medal.
Go to DeadMan's Gulch and head to Mountain Deep. This dungeon is pretty zig-zag, but if you look carefully, you can find a Treasure Cove easily (I will upload the route image later). Since this dungeon is very dark, I recommend searching for it carefully. When you find a treasure cove, time to use a Dynamite from Cronely's Hideout. On the way, you may consider slaying Ikrix too.
The Reason - Treasure Cove can drop one of Blood of C'thon/Tainted Brain Matter/Ancient Hearts. You gonna need a lot of them for various purposes. It is much faster to find it than killing a countless number of specific enemies. Ikrix Medal can be sweet depending on suffix and prefix.

Act 3

Den of Lost - Gollus Ring
Go to Rotten Croplands, run towards Royal Hive Entrance (which is random, but it is far North from the Riftgate anyway). Run or slay those bugs (they drop MI swords too... but not my taste) to reach the entrance between First entrance (far west) and last entrance (far east, where the queen bug is there). You will reach Skittering Den and look for a wall that destructible (around center-north) and go through it. You will reach Den of Lost. Far North East, there will be Gollus, kill it.
The Reason - Gollus Ring has good Health and Health Regeneration Bonus. Why not like?

DarkVale Gates (Optional) - Karroz (Blood Signet) Ring
Simply put, If you after only the ring, I recommend that do not bother with enemies for C'thon Seal of Binding, which you can get easily later in Act 4.
The Reason - It has good base stat as Pet Bonus. So if you get the certain prefix and suffix such as Subjugator with Wild, it can be a godsend Ring for Pet build. If you are not into that build, do not bother.

Act 4
Hidden Path(3) - Bysmiel Pants
Go to AsterKarn Road and go to 3rd Hidden Path (as I comment above, i will upload the image or link it) Dungeon. There will be some enemies that appear, kill them just in case and slay the hound called Guardian of Bysmiel
The Reason - not my fav. but certain build could use it too.

Tomb of Kovaak - C'thon Seal of Binding.
Go to Asterkarn Valley Riftgate, and east from it, there will be an entrance to Tomb of Kovaak with C'thon Humanoids guard it. Kill them and enter there. From start, kill every C'thon Humans until you see Undead enemies (which is near end of the dungeon).
The Reason - You really need a lot of C'thon Seal of Binding for... (sign) too many things. Some may question what about Blood Grove or Darkvale Gate. I tried those before until some Korean guy mentions about Tomb of Kovaak where it is small as Spined Cove with a high density of C'thon enemies.

Bastion of Chaos (Optional) - Obsidian War Clever, Obsidian Bulwark.
Go to Last RiftGate in Necropolis, run North to reach the bridge and bring 40 scraps and some irons if it is the first time. After that, Enter the rift. Inside there, Kill as you see fit about numbers, and turn off the current game session. Yes, you don't have to use Skeleton Key to go deeper (unless you are confident and need Sharzul's WorldEater) or look for the exit of that dungeon.
The Reason - Crucible is better for getting both MIs to craft certain gears. Otherwise... you might have no choice.

I apologize for my bad grammar (even though I checked) and less friendly style guide. You may need to google them a lot if it is first time (this is my first guide, I don't know how to upload images and link ). Yet it is good way to spend some time and prepare for the expansion.

A little modfication for Stun Jacks

Well, I do not want to boost up the damage or stun duration of Stun Jacks.
They deal considerate damage the the stun is long enough.

The idea I have in mind is that the jacks should not go off after 1 second after you threw you them. I think they should stay a bit longer before they go off on thier own. Mabe about 5 to 10 seconds.

How does this sound? Would that be benefical or would that be entirely useless?

Warborn Commando Optimisation

Hello everyone,

Among a bunch of character I'm running a pretty standard Warborn Commando.
Thanks to some great green all my Resistance are capped and I'm left with a Shield that got No Augment No Component. I'm used to having either Purified Salt/Imbued Silver or the one for Elemental Resitance on my Shield but considering I'm already capped everwhere they feel pretty flat. I did look at the option and nothing did flash my mind as *I should get that one* but maybe I missed something? Or maybe I should be overcapping a specific resistance as much as possible ?

Also for the Augment I was thinking of multiple option but they all seem kinda lackluster what would classify as the "best"

Essence of Chtnon (from reading it doesn't seem to stack with itself and I already have one on my weapon).

Dermapteran Chitin would give me 10% Stun (going from 70 to 80%)

Troll Wart Powder would add HP (Already near 12k HP and super tanky)

Maybe one of the Outcast (22 OA, 200HP. I wouldn't care for the 35% but could take like Aetherial Damage option?)

Would Oleron Fervor 10% Chance of +200% be worth it?

Another mech question - active skill cd reduction

Heya,

So the question is as follows: CDR affects everything, that much is clear. Question is, what does - x secs to active cds affect? Skills such as say canister bomb would clearly be affected. I presume skills granted by items with a cooldown would be reduced as well.

However, what about procs with cooldowns? Passive - not affected? I assume skills like blast shield or similar auto triggered skills are not affected?

Another mech question - active skill cd reduction

Options hard to notice

I reinstalled the game couple days ago and set graphics to max.. except today only I noticed my graphic settings were not at max

Its due to black background..

you select SHADERS and "very high" looks like it belongs in PARTICLES
but you select PARTICLES and "very high" is actually from WEATHER
but it looks as if it belongs to particles..

SUMMARY: I didnt noticed that I can select "very high" on SHADERS.. so it would be nice that selected option has background to actually see all available options without confusion.

GRIM LIFE - New Grim Dawn Fanfiction Novella

Hi everyone!

First things first – yes, this is one of my first posts here on the forum. I made it since I really wanted to share something I've been working on for a last couple of weeks.

GRIM LIFE – A Grim Dawn Fanfiction Novella!

Despite Cairn's rich world, we do not get nearly enough Grim Dawn fanfiction. So I decided to change that!
It should be around 15 000 words long (about as long as Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) when finished – most of it is already written and in following weeks I'll be proofreading it and releasing it in 5 chapters.

Grim Life is a revenge story of a two traveling adventurers (Infiltrator - although, mostly specialized as Inquisitor and Pyromancer) and their fight against an extremely dangerous aetherial. It is more of a personal thriller, rather than epic fantasy - do not expect deep dives into known lore and lengthy descriptions of magical items. This is almost wild-west-like suspense, with some personal trauma.

As I describe in foreword of the fanfiction - the characters were inspired by the Life is Strange video game series. But do not worry, there is not any (I hope) "trying to be cool" dialogue, and any lore-breaking time travel. Just some personality traits here and there I borrowed. Why? - See foreword.

Please, let me know what you think of the story so far, what you you think will happen etc. And if you find something that would be very unfriendly to known lore of Cairn I'm not opposed to making corrections

Physical Damage Question

Hi Guys,

I'm really new to this game. Basically, if my character performs 40 damage to an enemy using firestrike special attack (Demolitionist) and he has 50 percent additional physical damage with his gun, does this mean that he will actually do 60 damage to the enemy?

By the way, absolutely loving the game. At first I thought it was too easy but its gradually starting to test me in Act 2. Absolutely loved the warden battle which I beat first time on veteran. Its funny as the bastard stunned me just as I hit him for the last time to finish him off and I was down to a tiny bit of health. If I didn't strike him then, he would have finished me off! Love the fact you have to strategize with the bosses, its not just click click click.

I love this game more than POE and Diablo 3 ;-)

Physical Damage Question

Not enough equipment!

Hi guys,

i think the Equipment is quite unbalanced in this game.
Some builds are VERY well supported and others can hardly find
a good thing.
Just look how much sets/weapons you can find when playing ranged firestrike
or a melee primal strike build.
Dont you think there should be more items?!

Can we put the hotkeys of our our skills to other letter keys on the keyboard?

I'm a player who is only used to using the numbers 1 - 6 (main typing keypad) for using my skills. I have difficulties using the numbers 7 - 0 on the keyboard because of my small hand so I can't use them properly.

So is it possible to change certain number hotkeys (7, 8, 9, and 0) to letter keys (the letters R, T, Y, and U in this example) provided that the letter keys don't have a specific function yet?

If it is not yet possible, do you think a change like this could be useful to other people experiencing the same problem?

Apothecary's Sign giving 81 OA?

So I got a Sigil of the Bear King and decided to replace my Apothecary Sign with it. It ought to be a large upgrade, particularly since I am no longer getting the Apothecary set bonuses, having replaced the other pieces. The problem is, the Sign is inexplicably adding 87 OA (not 81 as the title says) to my character. This is in addition to the 16 OA it gets from Roiling Blood. My OA drops by 87 when I make the switch, in spite of both items having exactly the same 16 OA from Roiling Blood and neither having any Cunning. I have +10% OA bonus total on this character so no way is the 16 from the component getting increased to 103. It appears to be getting 87 OA out of nowhere. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I feel like I must be missing something obvious.

While farming Alkamos' rings, I've got a metric fuckton of Soulrends, one of them actually rolled pretty well. Thus I started to level a spellbreaker. Grimtools with my planned build below:

Regarding the gear, I know I need better Solael pants, legendary Alkamos ring set, Iceskorn Talons and Zantarin's shoulders (though beating my current Moose's shoulders will be hard).

I'm looking for advice on components (coldstone or oleron on weapon?), helms (I tend to default to Clairvoyant), where to spend the skill points and devotions.

I would like to dump Blizzard (and blade spirit) as it feels lackluster on my blademaster, and Kraken with it's 2h bonuses looks juicy, but couldn't figure out a decent setup.

I would like to be able to do at least challenger crucible, but looking at the build it seems a bit squishy (2572 DA with temp procs ). I'm thinking about some Time Dilation, Belgothian Carnage, Mirror cheese, but I don't think the CDR on the scythe and helm reduces Belgothian's or Time Dilation's cooldown, and to fit in TD I would have to drop way too much offensive stats.

Oh and BTW, my +5 SS BoM is up for grabs for Alkamos' rings and Iceskorn Talons, as those never seem to drop, and I could make the build work with Mark of Dark Dreams.

I come back to replay grim dawn and got myself laughing again.. I expected this to be fixed but apparently its not. Does noone notices this sound to be exact like toilet flush? It definately is..

If you listen in game, it has higher quality audio so its much more recognisible..
Cant find main menu ost but its in there..

Toilet flush sound still not fixed?

Slight Model Bug with Blightshard Summon (1.0.1.1)

Greetings Crate devs! This morning I stumbled upon a minor bug involving the creature the "Blightshard Amulet" summons (Cavern Crawler?). Pictured below, it would appear that a vertex on the right side of the tail is tied to the nearest leg making it stretch when the creature walks. The first shot, shows the effected area circled in red and the second shot shows how far it stretches in motion.

Slight Model Bug with Blightshard Summon (1.0.1.1)

I have played PoE since early 2012 (Founder), and have over time grown tired of the same content x 3 through the difficulties. Their latest expansion reworked the entire thing, and instead of 4 acts x 3 it's now 10 acts, no difficulty run-throughs (Best change in ARPG standards in a long time). When making new characters in Grim Dawn after the expansion is released, will we have to run through the entire game first on normal/veteran before we get to expansion content, and then have to do it 3 times as pr. usual? Or how's it implemented?

It's a complicated question, and you'll probably get a lot of answers based on personal experience and preferences.

IMO:

Lack of Default Attacks

-Don't just go off of mastery skills. Skills added via by equipment or components can still be decent, for example - Shard of Beronath. We won't know everything until the expansion is released.

-If there were one default weapon attack for focused on every damage type spread amongst the masteries, there would be around 9 skill lines? Maybe less as certain ones can be multipurpose (i.e. Fire Strike can act as Fire, Lightning, there's some Chaos or Physical as well in there).

-There doesn't need to be a default weapon attack heavily focused on every damage type. For one thing, there are many options for conversion. For example, this means that you can create multiple builds around converting Cadence's Physical damage to any other damage types or Fire Strike's Chaos to Aether etc.. and who knows what other options the expansion will bring with items .

-Finally, you don't necessarily need a default weapon attack to do X damage to build a character doing Y damage around it due to the fact you can stack flat damage and/or WPSes over default weapon attacks. Sure, Fire builds using Fire Strike or Lightning/Bleed builds using Savagery are going to be stronger but it still doesn't mean it isn't impossible to use other damage types. For an example, take a look at Chthon's Ranger of Dreeg.

Pure damage weapons (that aren't implements) are also not half bad for skills with high % weapon damage and there's likely to be more of them than Vortex of Souls in the expansion as one has already been shown off in streams.

Lack of Default Attacks

Passive damaging auras

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a list of anything that gives a passive damaging aura, because I want to see how far I can push a passive damage build when the expansion is out (because inquisitor).

I know there aren't much, and so far I got the following:

  • Night's Chill (Nightblade skill)
  • Aura of Censure (Inquisitor ultimate skill)
  • Shard of Asterkarn
Does anyone know any more items, skills (from items?) that deal passive damage?

A little help for a new player

Hello First of all I must say, that so far I was playing on 1.0.0.5 with a Nightblade.I got 1.0.0.9 with crucible and loyalist upgrade now, but I am finding it hard to find a proper build.I red almost all the threads here, but since i dont understand the most terms that ppl use I got really confused.I dont know what exactly crucible is, so I think am gonna play the normal campaing for now.I saw these builds :
