A return to GD

Hi guys, had a sudden urge to play GD again out of nowhere.

Haven't played in 12 months, had a level 51 2 handed lightning shaman build and a level 31 dual wield pistol/bomber.

I never knew what I was doing, just playing around.

This time around I want to follow a tried and true build where I'll learn things along the way and be able to finish the end-game content without being 1 shot.

What build is good right now? I want to perhaps go shield-based build that gives me some survive-ability while I relearn the game mechanics.

The only Legendaries I got were a shield called The Final Stop, and a crossbow called Silverbolt, if they're useful in a build now, I have no idea.
