The same behavior as above happens in multiplayer, but with one difference: While the beam animation still ends for myself, who is hosting the game, for those who are in the game with me the battlefield will be littered with ongoing Obliteration animations.
Edit: This issue only occurs with Obliteration, this was tested with Aether Ray and the Conflagration ray, and the issue does not occur.
The attached picture was a screenshot sent to me by a friend after our Crucible match was over. They counted a total of 32 alltogether at the end of the match and it made it hard(er) to see their targets in combat. This happens in the main campaign as well.
