First off I'll apologise straight up by saying this is anecdotal because I've not been able to reproduce it with any reliability.
I've noticed (or at least believe I've noticed) that since the patch wendigo sometimes just stops working.
The only somewhat consistent factor is the places I've had it happen are "underground" - wasp nests, the cavern deeps (ungoliax type areas). I wondered if maybe there is some sort of environmental element that's "blocking" the pulses reaching me if I should accidentally move the character (this seems unlikely as I'm just holding LMB on the boss target at the time).
It will pulse, you see the effect but no healing is applied (unclear on if damage is applying outwards either, it is an insignificant amount). I've only noticed it on these times because when it is working, my health never drops below about 75% (rarely below about 90%), but when the totem stops working it keeps dropping and I need to kite about a bit until I can drop a new one.
At first I assumed that the totem had simply timed out, but when I try to recast it is still on cooldown.
It is definitely not a boss attack or some other normal game effect, the character is massively, massively overtanked so I can confidently rule out boss "spike" damage. For example the mad queen was facetanked, never going below 75%, log also (including the adds which I ignored until they died from my retaliation damage) with the same results.
It may be nothing, certainly I'm not able to offer much in the way of further detail but if anyone else has noticed or felt this we might get more data - or someone can tell me it is all in my head, in which case that's ok too
